Last Night

Andrew started a new thing when he goes to sleep now. I lay him down horizontally (length-wise) in the crib on his back. As soon as I let go of him, he somehow contorts his body to end up something like this every time. He loves rolling around now while he's awake so why not at night too, right? After Andrew went to bed last night, the rest of us had ice cream. (Poor Andrew.) Gabe and Allie were over with their son, Joshua. He's almost 10 months old and got to try it for the first time last night! He loved it. He did everything he could to get more from his dad. Needless to say, he was a little excited afterwards. (ie trying to climb walls, etc) I mean- I like ice cream, but he put even me to shame! :)

Memorial Day Weekend

Andrew actually gave a couple of smiles for the camera! Whoo-hoo! His first tooth broke through on Sunday morning too. Maybe he was just embarassed to smile without showing any pearly whites. :) Ben and Danielle and Aydin (all friends of Gabe's from high school) all came over for a BBQ Saturday nite.
Aydin actually got a few smiles out of the little guy even though it was bedtime... impressive! I wish I had a picture of Danielle with Andrew. They look a lot alike! It was crazy to see her hold him. Here's a shot of Andrew flying above his daddy.

Catch Up

Sorry for getting so far behind folks. Here are all of the updates. I'll try to stay a little more current for my faithful readers.

No More Fish Bowl

Family room: Thanks to Maggie, we now have a way for our entire neighborhood not to watch us eat dinner. The pics don't really do them justice.Bedroom: It's so nice to be able to sleep when it's dark!

Grandparent Visit

Andrew got to visit with his Great Grandma Barb and Great Grandpa Buz this past weekend. They're in Hawaii now, but we got to visit with them on their way to paradise!

We also went out to lunch with one of Gandma Barb's best friends, Elie. She has just gotten back from a mission trip to Malawi where she got to visit orphanages and hold tons of babies. (Something I'd really like to do some day!) She's going to Romania next to work with Teen Challenge.

San Diego

You know you're a dork when you go to San Diego for a day, visit with friends you haven't seen in months (and years!), and you come home with only 2 pictures of your son eating in the car.
It was messy.

We visited our friends, Dave and Tracy, while we were in San Diego. It was so nice to see them that we totally forgot to take pics of them. So here's our shout out to the Fungs!

Dave really liked Gabe.

Baby Dedication

As promised, here are some additional pics from Andrew's dedication on Mother's Day at church. He still hasn't caught on to the whole "close your eyes during prayer" thing.
Lots of people came up to support Andrew and us for this event. It was such a blessing to see how much everyone at our church already loves the little guy!

Besides the major spit up incident during the opening prayer, Andrew was on his best behavior.
Andrew's Chinese twin, Noah, is to the left in this picture with his mom and dad (although you can't see him), Amy and Danny.

The whole crew. Five babies were dedicated in all and it was an awesome event!

Happy Mother's Day!

Andrew with his "Auntie" Annie from church. We had a Mother's Day BBQ at the park on Saturday. It was a great kick-off to a wonderful weekend.
Amy Chen with the little guy. He really liked the taste of her hair.
Mother's Day at church was very special. Andrew was dedicated during the service along with 4 other babies. Believe it or not, none of the babies cried! The dedication went great. It was so nice to see that Gabe and I have so much support for Andrew. Our church has always been a blessing in that way and I think Sunday was a very clear demonstration of it. Hopefully we'll have more pictures soon, but this will have to do for now.
This is 4 dozen roses that a mother and son at our church arranged for me. It is absolutely beautiful. I was so blessed to receive them.

Rice Cereal

Andrew ate his first "solids" on Monday night. He LOVED it!The first two nights we only fed him 2-3 tablespoons of rice cereal. He cried when we stopped. So tonight we just kept feeding him. He ate about 5-6 tablespoons! He can't get enough of this stuff!

He didn't slow down for quite a while....but when he did, he was worn out! He eats so much it wears him out. It's the cutest thing!

Vow Renewal

My Mom and ELM renewed their vows for their 5th wedding anniversary in Shell Beach. Curtis performed a beautiful ceremony even in the freezing weather.

Family Photo :)
Sister picture.

The Beach

We went to the beach with my sister Sara's family. It was Andrew's first time in the ocean and in the sand.
Although you can't tell here, Annalise is a perfect mix of both of her parents. She's beautiful!
Brad and Nathan were hard at work building a sand castle. I think Brad enjoyed it just as much as Nathan because I have a picture of Brad playing in the sand by himself too!
Classic taste. Rebellious temperature!
No kayaks, but they can't stop us from having fun!

Visit with Carolyn and Lauren

I FINALLY got to see Carolyn and meet her beautiful daughter, Lauren. She has the cutest laugh and looks JUST like her daddy!

There was very little time that they were both awake and happy, but it was so fun to see them together!

This was when Andrew got just a little bit upset... :)

Roll Over

Andrew rolled over today for the first time!

It took him a while. At one point he had the top half of his body facing up while his rear and legs were still down, but he eventually got it!
Go Andrew!
