Wyman Visit

We got to see Gabe's Aunt, Uncle, and cousins on Monday in Seal Beach. It was a great, but short visit. This is Zack. He's hilarious and full of energy. Here he was telling us a story with some great facial expressions. (Obviously) :)Here's Amy. She did a great job holding Andrew. We had a fun time and found out that we both have chocolate chip cookie personalities... really, we took a test and everything! :)

Here's Dan with the little guy. I'm convinced that Andrew is going to look a lot like Dan when he gets older. (You can't tell here, but Dan is very tall.)

Here's another shot of Zack during his story telling. :)

Graduation Banquet

The Graduation Banquet for the 6th and 8th graders as well as seniors was last nite in Irvine. It was awesome. Judy and Tiffany (above in green and pink) both graduated from HS. Awesome, but really sad too. :) :( Ed and Mark were the sound guys and Emily was one of the MC's. Even though Gabe and I just joined the church less than a year ago, it was really weird to think that all of the "kids" are already a year older. We've already seen them grow and mature so much. It's a blessing to be able to watch them and see God work in their lives.Andrea and Sam "Hsu's-taller-than-Andrea"
Fred (on left) just graduated from 8th grade (along with 12 others!). We're here with him, his parents, Mike and Annie, and his bro, the sound man, Ed. Andrew can usually be found with Mike or Annie if he's not with Gabe or I.
Dana also just graduated from HS. She's learning how to break dance! Tell me that's not awesome!
This is Tiffany and her parents, Elder Peter and Rita. Rita made Tiff's dress. This picture doesn't show how amazing her dress is, but it is sweet! She totally looked like a Barbie doll in it.

6 Months Old!!!

Andrew is 6 months old today! Here are some new things about him:
* 18 lbs 11 oz (75th percentile)
* 28.5 inches (97th percentile)
* Both of his bottom teeth are coming in
* He loves playing, "This little piggy" with his toes
* He laughs a lot, particularly when he's being tickled.
* He gives hugs and tries to kiss (so cute!)
* He eats rice cereal twice a day and will start other foods soon. (maybe tomorrow!)
* He loves to stand (with help)
* He wants to crawl very badly (especially when he's with his buddy, Joshua)
* He sleeps on his stomach almost every night now
* He sits up for longer periods of time
* He likes to jump
* He grabs for toys around him
We're totally blessed to have Andrew as our son. God has given us a very special little boy and we are VERY thankful!

Aquarium of the Pacific

How cute is this little guy?Mom and ELM on their Hawaiian vacation in Long Beach.
Andrew the lizard... or whatever kind of animal this is supposed to be.
My snorkeling adventure.

My two men.
Grammy got to put Andrew to sleep about 100 times on this visit. Go! Grammy! Go!
Andrew loves water bottles these days... especially if he sees mom or dad drinking from it first. I'm pretty convinced they are his favorite toys.

Fun Games

The high school and junior high group at church played an awesome game last Friday nite. During one part, there were 2 people (Hannah here) who had to tie another person's shoelaces with their feet!
Pudding eating contest... not too strange unless you can't use your thumbs!
Believe it or not, we did not make Ed do this. He volunteered himself for this competition. Eating pudding without hands. He ate the whole thing using only his feet and forehead.

Marriage

I know I don't usually put non-Andrew postings on this blog, but I've been considering putting thoughts on here and I feel that this is important and very much worthy of blog space.

Several things have happened recently that have made me consider the frailty of marriage. Before about a week ago, I would not have used the word "frailty" in conjunction with marriage, but I now see that the word is applicable. Gabe and I have very wise friends who had been married for about four years when we were discussing the sadness of divorce rates within the church. Instead of them saying, "I'm glad that we won't fall into that group", they spoke more wisely and said, "Lord, please help us not to end in divorce". I typically am hopelessly optomistic and would say things along my first quote, but the Scripture does say "Be careful when you stand lest you fall." Now, Gabe and I are doing great. Please don't be concerned, but isn't it true that you and I don't know what tomorrow holds? Only God knows. Therefore, let us pray for our spouses, pray for God's strength in our own marriages, pray for our friends and parents, and give these relationships to the Lord.

I wish that I could pour out more of my mind on this blog. I hurt inside when I hear about friends getting divorced. I get angry because I don't understand how things like this happen. What happened? Where was God when it happened? Where did those brothers and sisters of the couple go when they said they'd be there in times like this?

God, please humble us to see we need You. Please humble us to see that we need fellowship and accountability. Please humble us to stand, but only by Your strength.

Think Blue

On Saturday, Andrew and I surprised Gabe with tickets to a Dodger's game for an early Father's Day present.

Gabe was a proud daddy taking his son to his first baseball game.

These were our seats. Even I enjoyed the game from here. (I like watching the pitchers. Brad Penny did great, but we were bummed that Eric Gagne had pitched the nite before for the first time in a year and a half! We missed it!)

Father-Son time

It was almost 100 degrees (and humid!) during the game. Luckily, they had a free T-shirt promotion at the game so almost everyone wore their shirts in this same fashion. The weather was pretty much misserable... but the game was great!
